Location: Altrincham (Hybrid) – 4 days per week on site

Job Summary

The Head of Technology at Capify will be responsible for overseeing all technological 

aspects of the Group and driving the strategic direction, development and operational excellence of Capify’s technology infrastructure. This role will help to support Capify’s mission of providing flexible funding solutions to SMEs across the UK and Australia by aligning the technical strategy across all 5 pillars, ensuring compatibility across enterprise architecture. 

The ideal candidate will be an emerging Head of Technology from a strong hands-on 

Technical and Software development background, with experience across both technology and people leadership. They should have a proven track record of driving technology initiatives that contribute to business growth while maintaining a long-term vision. Ideally, they will come from a similar sized business to Capify with experience of Fintech and will be confident managing both the operational and strategic facets of technology, with the ability to roll their sleeves up when needed. 

The scope of this role will extend into overseeing technical operations / requirements from the Australian team, so prior experience with working in markets overseas and managing remote teams would be highly desirable. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Capify’s technology strategy to align with business objectives, ensuring the technology roadmap supports Capify’s goals of offering innovative financing solutions. 
  • Oversee hosting, front-end, back-end, security, and compliance of the website 
  • Manage Capify’s loan origination software and online application journey, built on React, PHP, and .NET. 
  • Handle platform integration and technology stock management. 
  • Maintain, customise, Iterate our CRM platform (currently Salesforce). 
  • Ensure robust data management, governance, analytics, and reporting. 
  • Design and maintain the entire infrastructure to ensure all solutions are aligned, scalable, and provide optimal ROI. 
  • Lead and mentor the tech team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. 
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and career development of technology staff. 
  • Develop and manage the technology budget to ensure cost-effective 
  • investments, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures. Identify and implement economies of scale throughout the Group. 
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices, and implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect data and systems. 
  • Lead technology projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and collaborating with departments to meet business needs. 
  • Act as the primary contact for technology-related matters with stakeholders and communicate technology strategies and initiatives effectively.  
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, such as the use of AI, fostering a culture of innovation within the technology team, and identifying opportunities for technological advancements to enhance business growth. 
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard Capify’s technology assets. 
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
