Recap: Google Rebrands

Recap: Google Rebrands

Google, that invaluable tool which has taught us so much. It’s used by people all over the world and per month 100 billion searches are typically submitted. Wow. The brand is already HUGE but there are certainly no plans to slow down, which was evidenced when they announced Alphabet on August 10th, 2015.

Alphabet is now Google’s official holding company, with the search engine being the biggest, however, not the only business it’s responsible for. The brains behind Google have been working on alternative projects for years, some of them we have been introduced to, such as Maps and others, like their self driving car, we have only heard about. Alphabet also runs lots of other technologies which you will know but maybe not related to the company, Youtube being a key example. With so many different products, it’s no wonder that they launched a new strategy.

Part of the reason for creating Alphabet was so people no longer associated all of their varied offerings with the name Google. Yes, this is probably their most famous creation but they are so much more than just a search engine and they want the world to know it. Google is a part of something bigger, a huge technology platform which is involved with creating things that benefit all industries, from communications to science. Now that the company is so segmented, each product will be carefully managed by a Chief Executive and dedicated team. This makes complete sense and i’m sure with their new business plan we can expect even more bigger and better things from this innovative company.

Shortly before Google rebranded, we did the same! It was an important milestone in our business, but one that was needed. Since our inception in the UK we were known under two separate names, United Kapital (Merchant Cash Advance) and Capiota (Business Loan). Despite both companies being successful, we wanted to bring them together and join with our counterparts in America (comapany formerly known as Amerimerchant), Canada (company formerly known as True North Capital) and Australia (company formerly known as Ausvance). We are now globally known as Capify and therefore we can provide finance to people all over the world, something we are very proud of.

We had a lot of work to do when we rebranded which included the creation of a new website, colour scheme and logo but we think it was all worth it!
