No one and no business enjoys paying taxes. However, for small businesses it’s more than just the money. Business tax laws are so confusing that it takes hours and even days out of every month to calculate them. And no one is ever sure they calculated them correctly.
A new survey by the Federation of Small Businesses finds that businesses spend an average of 12 days per year doing nothing except tax administration. A full 11% say they spend between two and six days every month trying to figure out what the tax bill is. These aren’t large companies with big tax departments. These are small to medium sized businesses where every work hour matters.
