You want people to feel like they are making a difference to the company, rather than being worried that they can’t present ideas or suggestions. You have to make sure that you and your employees share the same vision in term of business growth and development. A leader who is strategic will be aware of the consequences of taking risks, but also the limits of not doing this. They will work with their employees to implement changes in the best, most effective way and be confident in the benefits of these modifications. By showing others that you are self- assured, others will have faith in your decisions, even if they are deemed risky.

Although this style of leadership is important for team building, and relationship management, it also has its limitations. Sometimes bosses are at risk of focusing too much on the emotions of their employees, rather than the work that is being done. Although it is important to show you care about your workers, make sure that they are acting productively. Sometimes you need to tell people the truth to get the most out of them, a change of role or a stern word if compulsory could pay off, don’t accept excuses if a job isn’t being done correctly.
