Championing the UK’s small businesses this Independents’ Day

There’s no question that small and independent businesses are helping to drive the UK economy forward – even in these uncertain times.

They’re the heartbeat of local communities across the nation, appreciated and loved by residents and providing towns and cities with unique charm and character.

That’s why we’re proud to be supporting Independents’ Day in 2019 – a campaign that’s all about celebrating and promoting the UK’s independent retailers.

This not-for-profit campaign started in 2018 and has been gaining momentum ever since, with more and more people recognising the vital role independent businesses play in both our local and national economy.

Personal service to customers, diversity of product and innovation are just a handful of the reasons why it’s important that we do everything we can to shine a light on the retailers that make our high streets special.

Retail spending might be under pressure, but there will always be a place for businesses that offer great products and amazing customer service – no matter what sector they operate in. But they need our support now more than ever.

Getting involved in 2019

This year, we’re an exclusive partner of Independents’ Day and we’re helping to champion independent businesses through Retail Stories – a multi-channel campaign that includes blogs, podcasts and videos.

A range of content covering different topics will be published in the build-up to July 4, with some amazing businesses from across the UK being put in the spotlight for everyone to see.

Here’s what our Director of Marketing, Jo Balsamo, had to say about the partnership: “Supporting small and independent businesses is what Capify is all about, so it felt like a natural extension of our work to partner up with the team behind Independents’ Day.
