The Role:

Accounts Assistant - Altrincham UK

Accounts Assistant

Permanent – full time

£20k-£22k 

Manchester

Accounts Assistant for a fast growing Financial Services business based in Altrincham.  This role will suit someone with previous Accounts Assistant experience who is looking for a move into an expanding team that requires solid, confident support from this critical role in the finance team.

The role

  • Assist with the monthly accounts close process including reconciliation of the general ledger and preparation of monthly journals.
  • Process daily client remittances into reporting system and maintaining daily cash reconciliations.
  • Prepare, investigate and resolve reconciliation items on a timely basis, escalating internally when required
  • Responsible for processing purchase ledger invoices and monitoring aged creditors
  • Responsible for setting up regular electronic fund transfers, posting payments into accounting system
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation journal entries
  • Document procedures and work flow for assigned areas, seeking to identify and implement process improvements
  • Ensure all month end/ weekly deadlines are achieved
  • Provide general accounting support for the finance team and other reasonable duties as and when required

The person

  • Previous experience of Accounts Assistant role; reconciliations, high volumes etc
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (particularly Excel)
  • Ability to operate in a service driven culture, continuously challenging and seeking to be better
  • Good communication and customer service skillset, going above and beyond the call of duty where necessary
  • Trustworthy, diligent and self-motivated
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • A high level of attention to detail, ensuring inputting accuracy
  • Able to organise own workload and to reprioritise at short notice in order to meet deadlines
  • Able to learn quickly, break down processes into their constituent parts, identify problems, suggest and implement solutions
  • Knowledge of Solomon 7 or later version preferred but not essential.

      Responsibilities:

  • Lead the underwriting and investigation team, providing strong people management along with effective coaching and training to develop team members;
  • Ensure credit policies and procedures are robust, fit for purpose and adhered to, making improvements as required;
  • Assess the risk, accurately underwrite and mandate short term, unsecured lending to businesses;
  • Actively challenge processes, procedures and lending decisions to minimise risk;
  • Have the confidence to approve/reject applications in line with policy and to clearly and positively communicate decisions;
  • Provide excellent customer service and build effective relationships both internally and externally.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrable experience, minimum 2 years, in a senior management position in a commercial lending role;
  • Minimum 8 years experience of manual underwriting, ideally within an unsecured environment to SME businesses;
  • Strong people management skills and confidence in leadership style and approach;
  • In depth knowledge of assessing company accounts and profit and loss statements;
  • Outstanding communication skills;
  • Strong analytical skills that demonstrate a maturity of judgement;

The Role:

  • Processing funding – cross referencing information and sending reports to the lender for UK and Australia;
  • Reviewing bank transaction files received daily from a number of financial institutions and processing the associated transaction files;
  • Reconciling deals entered in the Company’s internal system with funds received from and/or issued to merchants;
  • Through effective problem solving, resolve issues with internal systems and processes;
  • Deal with requests escalated from Accounts/Collections relating to debit/credit transactions;
  • Through interaction with multiple departments, collate and document business transactions and improvement requests;
  • Create new users in our customer tracking system.

This is an exciting and challenging position for a creative and energetic Marketing Affiliate Executive with outstanding communication skills and a demonstrated aptitude for planning, creating and executing lead generating campaigns.

Responsibilities

Execute the marketing and communication strategy with a strong focus on lead generation via various marketing channels.

Responsible for end to end campaign execution from negotiating new affiliate partnerships, working with other departments to execute the campaign and analyse the results and continue to make improvements.

Maintain project planning and marketing calendar for up and coming campaigns.

Ability to create leads within direct sales, renewal and business development environment.

Support the Marketing Director and Marketing Team working day to day within the UK Altrincham office but collaborating internationally with offices based in AU.

Experience / Requirement

Ideally 2 years of Affiliate B2B marketing experience to SME industry.

Direct experience in Marketing, covering multi-channels including email comms; digital, direct mail, social and collateral.

Experience preferential of Salesforce

Track record of successful project planning and delivery including excellent multi-tasking and prioritisation skills.

Ability to analyse sales results from formatted reports to make improvements for future campaigns.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiating and relationship management skills proven across a large matrix organisation.
